EduWatch Director to hold education policy apprenticeship programme for graduates
After so many years of receiving messages about mentorship, the Executive Director of Africa Education Watch (EduWatch), Kofi Asare has announced to hold an education policy apprenticeship programme for graduates.
“Even though I am very busy, I still believe I can admit a few serious YOUNG graduates into a 3-6 month policy apprenticeship and mentorship programme leading to possible employment,” he said in a social media post.
Qualification
1. You must be very serious in this life and ready to learn.
2. You must have a background in social sciences, with excellent writing skills in English.
3. You must have excellent communication skills.
4. You must be proficient in data analysis using at least, excel.
5. You must live in Accra, since 80% of the action is in Accra.
6. You must be willing and able to fund your learning.
7. You must be available to physically learn at the Eduwatch office in East Legon for at least two (2) days in a week. This excludes the weekend policy school.
8. You must have a laptop.
9. Strong career ambition in social development.
Programme structure:
Orientation with District and Regional Education Offices, GES HQ, Ministry of Education and other agencies, Parliament etc to appreciate their roles in education policy and service delivery.
About 2-4 weeks deprived rural internship to appreciate education sociology and school governance.
Weekend policy school on Saturdays in Accra.
Occasional participation in Eduwatch activities.
Monthly assessment of learning progress. You must pass to proceed to the next month or module.

“This is my personal commitment to human capital development in the education policy space. No donor is funding this activity. You shall therefore, not be paid anything, except stipend and transport for the rural trip,” he noted.
