EduWatch reveals how many 2022 WASSCE papers leaked
If you or WAEC think 2022 WASSCE did not leak, you are kidding yourself. EduWatch reveals how many 2022 WASSCE papers leaked.
Two WASSCE elective subject papers leaked on some rogue Telegram and WhatsApp platforms during the conduct of the WAEC examination, Africa Education Watch (EduWatch) has disclosed in its 2022 WASSCE Monitoring Report.
According to the controversial Report sighted by AcademicWeek, Further (Elective) Mathematics 2 and General (Core) Mathematics 2 papers, were each leaked nine (9) hours before their scheduled commencement time.
“Online leakages in two (2) out of 12 papers: Some questions intercepted ahead of the exams on some rogue Telegram and WhatsApp platforms were later confirmed as leakages.
These questions were for Further (Elective) Mathematics 2 and General (Core) Mathematics 2 papers, which were each leaked nine (9) hours before their scheduled commencement time,” the Education think tank stated in the Report.
Meanwhile, the West African Examinations Council following the leakage of this year’s WASSCE mathematics (Core and Elective) questions has said the examination papers of the two subjects will be marked rigidly without favour.
In a blog post sighted by AcademicWeek, management of the non-profit-making organization said it received reports of some handwritten extracts of the maths questions shared on a platform ahead of the conduct of the two papers.
“Concerning Mathematics (Elective) Paper 2 and Mathematics (Core) Paper 2 however, reports were received of some handwritten extracts of some questions on monitored platforms
The Council would deploy various internationally accepted assessment procedures to guarantee the credibility of the results for the two papers. Investigations are ongoing and any further developments will be communicated,” it noted.
A total of 422,883 prospective candidates representing 203,753 males and 219,130 females from 977 Senior High Schools (public and private) registered to sit for the Ghana version of the international examination (WASSCE).
