Hundreds of SHS students gathered at the Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC) in Ayigya, Kumasi on Friday, May 1, 2026, for the much-awaited Fire for Future Conference 2026 (SHS Edition).
It was a youth development event organised by Draema Services and Pedlo Energy, working with the Guidance and Counselling Unit of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Ashanti Region.
The conference started at 9 am and brought together students, teachers, professionals, and industry leaders under one roof.
The goal was simple: to inspire, teach, and equip young people with the mindset and tools they need to live purposefully and excel in their careers.
Giving the keynote speech, Ing. Dr. Peter Godslove Debrah, CEO of Pedlo Energy Company Ltd., told students to take charge of their future by building discipline, vision, and strength.
He said they should connect their personal passion with national growth and see themselves as change-makers in Ghana’s economic and social development.

“The future is not something far away; it is something we build every day through our choices, habits, and mindset,” he said.
The conference had many speakers and facilitators from different jobs. They talked about important topics for young people, including The Five Principles of Life, Gen Z: My Strengths and Challenges, Drugs: My Body, Reaction & Effects, and Driven by Passion & Purpose. These sessions gave practical advice on personal growth, health, and life choices.

Each speaker shared their own life stories and work experience, creating a rich and interesting learning space for the students.
One big moment of the event was the honest talk about drug abuse and its long-term effects. This touched many students deeply. The speakers stressed the importance of making smart choices and knowing oneself when dealing with peer pressure and what society pushes on young people.
The conference was not just about books. It also had lively performances from famous Ghanaian musicians Adom Kiki and Naamah Atta Yeboah, which added fun and cultural expression to the day.
There were also interactive sessions, including a lively question-and-answer time. This allowed students to talk directly to the speakers, ask questions, and discuss issues affecting their school and personal lives. Over 50 students took part in the Q&A, showing great interest and energy.
Students were also given refreshments thanks to sponsors like Promasidor Ghana Ltd, Nescafé by Nestlé and LaVonce. Their support helped make the event a success. The conference ended with networking time and group photos, showing unity and a shared purpose.
Organisers thanked the Ghana Education Service, Dr William Amankra (Regional Director, GES), Dr Mrs Faustina Opoku-Anyamesem, Ps Joshua Obeng of CCC, partner schools, sponsors, and volunteers for their great help. They promised to keep the event going and reach even more young people across the country.
