Relatives of Ghanaians in Ukraine

The latest move by the government of Ghana is that Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Nationals Integration plans to meet relatives of Ghanaians in Ukraine.

Following the war between Russia and Ukraine, the government of Ghana through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Integration has scheduled an important meeting between the Ministry and parents, guardians, and relatives of Ghanaian nationals living or studying in Ukraine.

This was contained in a press release from the ministry sighted by Ghanaeducation.org. The ministry indicated that the said meeting will be held on 1st March 2022. The meeting which starts at 10 am would be held in Accra at the Accra International Conference Centre on the said date. All Relatives of Ghanaians in Ukraine are advised to be present at the meeting.

Earlier this morning, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa 

indicated that “Reports from Ghanaian students crossing Ukrainian borders into Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary since last night seems to suggest that they are on their own.”
“We humbly appeal to designated Ghanaian consular officials to reach out to them ASAP. We recognize these are tough times but let’s do our best. Appearing to abandon our compatriots when they need us most cannot be an option.

ACCRA 26TH FEBRUARY, 2022 – In view of the prevailing precarious security situation in Ukraine which has necessitated the evacuation of Ghanaian nationals, among others the country to safety, The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey is cordially inviting all parents, guardians, and relatives of Ghanaian nationals in Ukraine to a meeting details of which are as follows.

Date: 1st March 2022

Venue: Accra International Conference Centre

Time: 10 am prompt
