And Four die while ‘fasting to meet Jesus’? Christianity demands that Christians fast and pray, however, the Bible also states that “For the lack of knowledge, my people perish” Hosea 4:6. Could this be the reason why four Christians died after fasting with the intention of meeting Jesus? Did their intention to meet Jesus mean fasting until death? These are the questions that have shaken the Christian community after the death of the four faithful.
Health experts in Kenya on Thursday found all four Christians fasting and praying to meet Jesus dead, while several more were hospitalized in Kenya’s coastal Kilifi county. Apparently, they were rescued while waiting for the imminent end of the world.
The Church in question is the Good News International Church, located in Kenya’s coastal Kilifi county
This incident could be another example of faith leaders hypnotizing and indoctrinating their followers.
The Kenyan police have revealed that the Christians were found in the forest. They have been occupying this part of the country for days.
A local preacher asked them to pray and fast while “waiting to meet Jesus”. As obedient followers, they did as they were told.
So far, things are not looking good as many more are yet to be located and rescued. At least 11 people have so far been rescued safely. Per the details from the authorities, six of them were emaciated and in critical condition.
Police said they will resume a search for more members of the group on Friday morning, following reports that others were still in the forest.
Sadly, the Kenya police have found fresh graves dotted around the forest, which suggests several more might have died and been buried by the local preacher even before the police got a hint of it. The police have stated that, all fresh graves in the forest which will be investigated on Friday.
The Christian community is still in shock and can not understand why four persons will die while ‘fasting to meet Jesus’
The local pastor has been on police radar for allegedly urging his followers to starve to death in order to reach heaven faster.
The pastor is currently out on police bail after he was charged last month over the death of two children whose parents are among his followers.
In a related development, in February 2023, A pastor in Mozambique died after trying to fast for 40 days, emulating what Christ is said to have done in the Bible. He was Francisco Barajah, founder of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church. He was rushed to the Hospital in critical condition.
