Fresh 2024 School Self-Placement Update
The 2024 school placements have been released by the Ministry of Education; however, over 100,000 candidates are expected to use the self-placement module to choose a school of their choice among others.
A total of 104,918 students who passed the BECE but were unable to secure placement in one of their 11 school choices will need the self-placement module. However, the Ministry of Education has also assigned approximately 73,390 students to schools that were similar to their chosen ones but did not secure placement.
Since 4:30 am on October 29, 2024, candidates who were placed in a school they did not choose and those who passed but were not placed have had trouble accessing the CSSPS portal’s self-placement module.
According to a reliable source, the Ghana Education News portal has not yet released the 2024 Self Placement. Currently, the portal is not redirecting those who wish to use the self-placement portal to that section for decision-making.
When will we be able to use the 2024 School Self Placement portal?
We have reliable information that the self-placement portal will launch tonight, on October 29, 2024. However, our team has not received confirmation of the exact time.
We advise those interested in using the self-placement module to patiently wait for GES and MoE to populate the site with the available schools, programs, and accommodation types.

However, students placed in the schools of their choice are unable to use the self-placement module. The self-placement module cannot function until the site receives more users.

SHS1 students and parents are to start the 2024 SHS1 admission process on October 30th, 2024. The admissions processes will continue until all placed students enrol for the 2024-2025 academic year. Academic activities for SHS1 students start on 7 November, 2024. This implies that all students must begin school on the 7th.
Students who have not been placed and those who want to change their schools should get ready for the 2024 School Self-Placement module activation by the MoE.
