GCB Alerts Customers of 2024 New Bank SMS and Call Fraud
After our publication on Govt’s No Ghana Card No March Salary and How Fraudsters Have Started Defrauding Bank Account Holders: AUDIO ON SCAM ALERT, the GCB has cautioned all its clients and the general public to disregard all SMSs and calls by fraudulent persons who are pretending to act on behalf of GBC for their own criminal acts.
The bank stated in its press release that its attention has been drawn to messages and phone calls from criminals who are claiming to be calling from GCB Bank PLC. It cautioned the public not to provide any details to such persons who may ask them for their details regarding the linking of their bank accounts with their Ghana card.
The bank further stated that it does not send messages to customers to request their account or card details.
All customers who receive such calls or SMSs from the criminals have been tasked with checking the accuracy of such messages from the customer service of the bank through the toll-free number 0800422422.
