GES fails to deal with court issues, postpones 2022 Teacher Promotion Exam until Feb. 2023.
The GES has officially postponed the December 2022 Teacher Promotion Exam. The Exam will now be held in February 2023 according to the notice served by the management of the Ghana Education Service.
GES revealed that the postponement of the December 2022 promotion aptitude test was necessitated by unsolved issues.
The major bottleneck that hindered the conduct of the examination had to do with the test results of the 2021 and the legal suit brought against it.
It will be recalled that, some 256 teachers sued the GES and further pleaded with the court to place an injunction on the GES to prevent it from organizing the 2022 examination until the issues tabled by the 256 teachers in court have been dealt with.
The said 256 teachers who were all candidates of the examination from the same exam centre were mysteriously failed, including teachers who were absent from the said examination.
The legal team of the failed teachers called for the scripts of the teachers and the scores they obtained in the examination.
However, the GES failed to provide the needed information, which compelled the 256 teachers to take legal action against the Ghana Education Service.
The case is expected to serve as a landmark case when it is finally resolved by the court.
