GES is expected to announce reopening dates for public schools today

GES is expected to announce vacation and reopening dates today.
Private schools vacate on 25th July 2024 and reopen on 10th September 2024.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) will announce vacation and reopening dates today, Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
When schools reopen in September 2024, the vacation date will officially end the 2023–2024 academic year, while the reopening date will help usher in the new academic year 2024–2025 into action.
So far, the GES has confirmed that the vacation date for public schools will be July 25, 2024. However, the reopening date for basic schools has been kept tight-lipped. The released calendar for 2024-2024 by the leadership of the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) has indicated what the new school year looks like.
The GES has announced that September 27th will be the reopening date for SHS1 students who took the 2024 BECE from July 8th to 15th this year.
If the GES fails to announce the vacation and reopening dates for public schools, learners and pupils will be required to remain in school until they receive further directives from the GES. However, private schools will be vacating on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
The GES is expected to release the dates for the start of the 2025 BECE, which is also expected to be held in July.
In a related development, the 2024 Ghana National Standardised Test (NST) will come to an end today across the nation as six basic learners take their turn to write the exam on day two of the assessment.
