Ghana Education Service has released a new academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic year for all schools.
GES Academic Calendar For JHS, Primary and KG
Basic Schools 1st Term Vacation Date(KG To JHS 2)
KG to JHS 2 pupils will resume the academic calendar on 10th January, 2023 and end on 24th March, 2023.
Vacation Date Starts from 25th March, 2023 to 2nd April, 2023.
Same Applies to JHS 3 pupils for first term.
Basic Schools 2nd Term
Second term starts from 3rd April to 15th April. Vacation date for second term is from 16th June to 26th June, 2023.
Same applies to JHS 3 pupils..
Basic Schools 3rd Term
School resumes on 27th June to 14th September, 2023.
JHS 3 pupils are expected to begin their BECE in September.

Form 3 – 10th January, 2023 to 5th April, 2023
Vacation starts from 6th April to 16th April.
Form 2: 10th January to 17th February, 2023.
Vacation starts from 18th February to 10th April, 2023.
Form 1(BECE graduates) will resume on 20th February to 13th April, 2023.
Vacation starts from 14th April to 8th June, 2023.
SHS Single Track 1st Semester Vacation Date
Form 3 – 10th January, 2023 to 5th April, 2023
Vacation starts from 6th April to 16th April.
Form 2: 10th January to 5th April, 2023.
Vacation starts from 6th April to 16th April, 2023.
Form 1(BECE graduates) will resume on 20th February to 5th April, 2023.
