GES To Close Down Schools In Keta – See Details
The Ghana Education Service GES to close down schools in Keta. This is one of the biggest calls from the people of Keta following the recent flood situation caused by the Akosombo Dam spillage. The matter is getting serious as over 400 people have been displaced in the Volta Region in a town called Mepe.
Houses have been submerged by the water and there is no way a person can live in those conditions. The issue is getting more scary after the management of the Volta River Authority (VRA) hits that, Ghanaians should expect more spillage due to the volume of water that has been stored in the Akosombo Dam. According to the management of the Volta River Authority. The Water in the Dam has exceeded its limit and there is no other alternative but to cause the water out of the Akosombo Dam. It is either they maintain the water in the dam so that the dam will crash or release more water from the Dam. The Akosombo Dam has been our major source of electricity in Ghana and watching for the dam to crash will bring serious havoc to the country. Therefore, the best solution is to expel more water from the dam. On the other hand, the Akosombo Spillage is causing huge danger to some residents in the Volta and Oti Region of Ghana. Given this, GES to close down schools in Keta is obvious.
A youth activist from Nukpesekope, a district within Keta in the Volta region, Mr. Wonder Setsoafia Deynu, has made an earnest plea to the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the locality, urging the temporary closure of schools. This is a good call and it is of great hope that schools in those affected areas will be closed down by the Ghana Education Service GES. GES To Close Down Schools In Keta
