Ghanaian University Student Wins Global Lifetime Achievement Award In Dubai
Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education have once again honoured outstanding leaders (both academics and practitioners) who have made significant contributions to the advancement of sustainability in higher education over their lifetimes. They represent the most influential minds in the field of campus sustainability.
An MPhil student in Art Education, Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Otoo of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been adjudged the ultimate winner of an international award organised by the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education.
Mr. Otoo emerged the overall winner of the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” at a ceremony held in Dubai.
The recipient of this coveted award is chosen from the top finalist from over 50 countries by an impartial panel of judges who work in the educational sector. This finalist must have made the greatest overall contribution to education in their communities outside of their own academic or professional field. The judges take into account the individual contributions, influence, and characteristics that make their contribution to education distinct from others.
Despite being invited and shortlisted for the Community Award in the Citizenship category, Mr. Otoo, who is also a tutor at the Winneba Secondary School, was successful in winning the “Lifetime Achievement in Education Award.”
Prior to winning this prestigious award, Mr. Otoo had been adjudged the National Best Teacher in Ghana or Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher for the year 2021. The National Best Teacher’s Award space in Ghana has been dominated by products of UEW over the years. In the 2022 edition of Ghana’s Best Teacher’s Award, Ms. Stella Gyimah Larbi, a product of UEW, emerged as Ghana’s most outstanding teacher. Several other products also earned top awards in various categories.
