The president of  Colleges of education teachers association CETAG (Mr. Prince Obeng – Himah and the president of CENSTAG (Mr. Frederick Forkuo Yeboah agreed that the high cost of living in Ghana, especially regarding fuel prices is a challenge leading to their indefinite strike action. The leaders of the groups bemoan about unfair treatment from the Government towards them.

However, despite the decision from the two unions, the security departments across all 46 colleges of Education stay on duty. In many cases, since the security department is part of CENSTAG, many believe that it is unfair for security officers to still be at post.

We are yet to see whether the government will respond to the grievances of CETAG And CENTSAG before the unexpected happens.
