Register for the GTLE 2024/2025 Exam: Deadline Feb 20

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has made the GTLE registration deadline for the 2024–2025 examination public.
The Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), introduced by the NTC, which, when passed by a trained teacher, makes him or her a recognised professional teacher both in Ghana and abroad, will be administered this year as well.
What is the official deadline for the 2024–2025 GTLE registration?
The GTLE registration deadline for 2024/2025, according to the NTC, is February 20, 2024. The registration started on January 20.
Interested candidates are to complete the registration on or before the deadline because the NTC has indicated there will be no extension in the time for registration beyond the February 20, 2024, deadline.
Who can write the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE)?
According to the regulations outlined by the National Teaching Council (NTC) for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), the examination is open to only PGDE and degree holders. These applicants must have degrees or postgraduate degrees in education.
What is the GTLE date for 2024?
The NTC has set March 17–March 19 as the examination dates. The timetable for the examination has not been released at the time of this publication.

Which subjects will be administered during the 2024–2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE)?
The candidates who meet the requirements for the examination and successfully register will be examined in three papers or subjects.
The areas, or subjects, to be examined are:
- General professional knowledge
- Grade-level Specialism Pedagogy Paper
- Multiple Subject Content or Single Subject Content Knowledge.
The third option or subject will be dependent on the candidate’s subject specialization. The subjects or papers examined during the GTLE were purposely designed with the sole aim of evaluating the depth of each candidate’s understanding of essential teaching principles in those subject areas as well as testing their ability to apply their knowledge in that area in an effective way in the field of education.
Teachers who intend to write GTLE are advised to check the NTC website at ntc.gov.gh/gtle-content so as to know the content areas for each paper.
What is the GTLE registration fee or cost?
Registration costs, according to the NTC, are as follows:
- Indexing Fee: GHC50
- Fresh candidates: GHC450
- Resit Candidates (1 Paper): GHC150
- Resit Candidates (2 Papers): GHC210
- Resit Candidates (3 Papers): GHC385
GTLE Registration Deadline for 2024/2025: GTLE Indexing Process
Before a candidate can be deemed to qualify for the examination, he or she must be indexed to stand a chance of registering.
The applicant will have to pay GHS50.00 as an indexing fee. This can be paid at any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd. nationwide. However, the Momo short code *772*51# can be used across all networks by using your college or university index number.
When you successfully pay the amount, an SMS will be sent to you. It contains your name, index number, and other information from NTC that you will use to complete your registration for the examination.
Once this is received, go to the NTC portal at www.indexing.ntc.gov.gh and verify your details.
Verification means logging in using the index number you received through the SMS alert you received after paying the indexing fee of GHS50.00.
To verify your details, log in with the indexing number you received on your phone via SMS. For the in-banking payment, if you do not receive an indexing number immediately, you can use your transaction number from the bank, which can be found on the payment receipt, to log in to verify your details. further instructions.

Before a candidate can make payment, the applicant must upload the College of Education they completed onto the indexing portal.
If a candidate doesn’t have a degree, they won’t be allowed to pay through the bank or the short code.
The GTLE Registration Process for the 2024–2025 exam year.
- Those interested in taking all three exams must pay GHC 450.00.
- Prudential Bank Ltd. accepts payments at any of its branches around the country or by text message to the short number *772*51#, which is valid on all networks.
- Remember to collect your PIN and serial number from the bank if you’re making a bank payment.
- Now go to the website exams.ntc.gov.gh.
- Paste the PIN and serial number from your e-voucher.
- Make sure to upload your passport-size photo and fill out all the fields.

Important reminders to help you avoid errors and challenges
Remember that the NTC will not entertain any reason or decision by you to change your passport picture uploaded. To avoid any errors, ensure that you have your best-scanned passport and documents to be uploaded secured in a folder on your desktop before you proceed with the registration.
Always cross-check what you have uploaded carefully, and keep your concentration intact during the registration process.

After registering, as a candidate, do not let anybody else have access to your PIN or serial number. Keep them safe and prepare for easy re-entry later.
Ensure that on the examination day, you go to the centre on time and are well dressed. Remember that the dress code is business casual.
If you gave birth to a baby, you cannot write the exam with the baby with you, as his or her cries can disturb others in the exam hall. If you have to be at the exam centre with your baby, then come along with someone who will take care of the baby outside the exam hall as you write the exam.
