How to send HD quality photos on WhatsApp in 5 simple steps
WhatsApp has launched a new feature that allows users to send HD photos to their contacts. Users can update the app and choose between Standard and HD quality when sending photos.
This year, the instant messaging platform WhatsApp launched many new features. The latest one is the HD photo feature. As the name suggests, with the launch of the new feature, WhatsApp users will be able to send HD photos to their contacts, which was one of the much-awaited features. Until now, WhatsApp used to compress photos sent through the messaging platform, but with the launch of the new feature, users will have the option to share photos in HD quality.
It should be noted that the feature has been launched officially but the roll out will begin soon. This means that if you are unable to see the HD quality option, you will need to wait for some more time. Both Android and iPhone users should get the HD-quality photo sharing feature soon. Once the update with the feature is pushed, users will simply need to head to the Play Store and update the messaging app. The company has said that “HD Photos” will be rolling out “globally over the next few weeks.”
So, with the launch of this new feature, WhatsApp users will get two options to share photos – Standard and HD quality. Announcing the launch of the feature, WhatsApp stated “To ensure sharing photos over WhatsApp remains fast and reliable, Standard Quality will continue to be the default option photos are sent in.”
In addition, WhatsApp confirmed that it will soon bring HD Videos features as well. But first, let’s take a look at how to send HD-quality photos to friends and family members on WhatsApp.
Step 1: When the feature is released, you will first need to update the app via Google Play store and Apple App store.
Step 2: Open the WhatsApp app and chat you wish to share HD photos.
Step 3: Click on the attachment option, and you will find two options – Standard and HD Photos.
Step 4: To send HD quality photos, click on the second option – HD quality (2000×3000)
Step 5: Click on send and your contact will get the photo in HD quality.
WhatsApp also highlighted that “if you receive a photo when you have low bandwidth connectivity, you can choose on a photo-by-photo basis whether to keep the standard version or upgrade it to HD.”
