In this write-up, I will share with you How to write Search Engine Optimized (SEO) Content (Subheadings and Links) which is the continuation of the above recommended content.
SEO and Subheadings and how they help improve your content
There are six subheadings you can use when writing your content. The default among these is Header 1 which can only be used in the title of the post. This is automatic.
However, the other subheadings can be used in the post from Header 2 to header 6. When writing a blog post, do well to break it into sub themes or ideas and provide a sub heading for each section. Do this as practical as possible.
These subheadings make reading easy as helps readers to know your line of thought in each section.
Again, when using subheadings, do your best to have about 60% of your subheadings containing the long tail keyword or its synonyms which you want to rank for.
In doing this, you will be optimizing the content for search engines. As you can see, the subheadings of this post have the respective keywords in them.
Search Engine Optimized (SEO) and Links in posts
Blog posts you create must have related contents links embedded in the post. These links serve as additional sources of related ideas for readers. There are two types of links you can build or embed in the posts at relevant sections.
The two types of links are
[a] Links to other stories on your site.
These have the capability of retaining the readers on the site for long as they read other contents that match the one they have already seen on the site.
[b] Links to other stories on other authoritative sites
You can also help the reader find additional useful resources and explanations to what you have published by linking the content to other contents on other sites.
