“I’m Very Disappointed”; Dede Ayew Finally Reacts To Black Stars Exit From The 2022 Fifa World Cup
Captain of the senior National team, Black Stars of Ghana, Andre Dede Ayew has reacted to their 2:0 defeat against Uruguay which led to their early exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to the press after the game, Dede Ayew made it clear that he is really disappointed. This is because, he expected the team to do better than what they did. He added that everyone in the team is to be blamed and apologized to Ghanaians for exiting early from the competition.
This comes after Uruguay defeated Black Stars in the tournament. Despite the win, Uruguay failed to qualify. Ghana started the game on the front foot as they nearly took the lead in the opening stages of the game. Ghana was handed a glorious opportunity to take the lead from the penalty spot but Ayew couldn’t find a way past Uruguay goalkeeper from just 12 yards out.
Things got even worse for Ghana in the 26th minute as De Arrascaeta found the back of the net for Uruguay. It got even better for Uruguay in the 32nd minute as Arrascaeta scored yet another brilliant goal after receiving a delightful pass from Suarez.
Arrascaeta’s double strike proved enough to secure all three points for Uruguay as the Black Stars couldn’t find their way back into the game.
However, Ghana would have themselves to blame for their surprising exit from the tournament because they wasted the opportunity to change the tempo of the game in the early stages.
The Black Stars had a glorious opportunity to take the lead in the opening stages of the game but failed to take it. There is no doubt that Uruguay would have found it difficult to get back into the game if Ayew had scored from the penalty spot earlier on.
