IMF calls for Free SHS “Review”: Will NPP appraise or critique or do a “Senseless” Review
Knowledge and wisdom they say are never in the mind of one person or a given group of people. The Free SHS has been saddled with glaring challenges that the leadership of the ruling NPP has pretended never existed.
NDC and IMF called for Free SHS “Review”: Will NPP appraise or critique or what? The Word Game Continues
The IMF has been on point on the need to review the Free SHS. It has argued strongly that at best, the Free SHS only increased enrolment and needs to be “REVIEWED”
Vice President Bawumia described the call for review by the NDC as Senseless. The common sense question is, Is the review now sensible and needful now because it is coming from the IMF? or it has been the most important Free SHS Policy decision the government has refused to take because of a weak entrenched political ideology?
The IMF used or might have borrowed the words of the former President of Ghana and the NDC who indicated that they will review the Free SHS should they win power. However, the ruling NPP argued that, there was no need to review the policy and that the meaning of REVIEW per the NDC was cancellation.
In fact, the NPP fought the review vehemently in the run to the 2020 general elections up until now.
Now that the IMF’s $ 3 billion bailout has been approved, the International Monetary Fund (IFM) has called for a review of the policy, it is hoped that the ruling government which dislikes the term REVIEW” comes out with a new word for the very review they have been running away from.
and so does the need to review the Free SHS
When John Mahama said, he will review free SHS, they said it meant cancellation. Now that, they (IMF) also want to review, let’s wait for the NPP’s definition of review from the black law dictionary.
In all these, one thing is clear, the NPP dislikes any good suggestions coming from the NDC.
They see them as wrong or evil or golden suggestions to be disregarded or never implemented even if they will help save a sinking ship like the Ghanaian economy. However, the same suggestion makes logical commons sense if it comes from the IMF or any other person outside the shores of Ghana.
Since it is a game of words, just maybe, the NPP will prefer one of these.

IMF calls for Free SHS “Review”: Will NPP appraise or critique or do a “Senseless” Review? It is time our leaders swallow their political pride and take decisions in the best interest f the nation and not their political parties. Running away from the obvious truth just because of politics makes you a weak link in the development of this nation.
