Is it true that WAEC’s motto is ‘your failure our success’?

Is it true that WAEC’s motto is ‘your failure our success’ for BECE & WASSCE? Have you also head about this motto?

You might have heard that WAEC’s motto for the famous BECE and WASSCE examinations is ‘your failure is our success. People often claim that WAEC intentionally fails students who take its national and international examinations.

There are also stories that suggest that when students fail their WASSCE and BECE, for instance, WAEC gets excited.

However, our cross-check of the facts has proven beyond reasonable doubt that ‘your failure, our success’ has never been the motto of WAEC for BECE and WASSCE examinations.

The phrase might have been coined by students who sat the WAEC examination very long ago, and this false belief has been inherited by nearly every batch of students WAEC administers its examinations to.

The leadership of WAEC has indicated clearly that the motto of the sub-regional examination body is “Committed to Excellence” and not “Your failure is our success.”.
