Clerical Responsibilities:

What Is The Role Purpose Of An External Communications Manager At Vodafone Ghana?

Develop and execute communication strategies with a focus on managing corporate brand, related risks and opportunities to protect and build reputation and brand value.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership

  • Liaise with the Foundation and Sustainability manager in facilitating internal and external communications and visibility on the Foundation and Sustainability issues.
  • Act as the communications business partner for senior management and various functions, providing relevant communication solutions to help build the Vodafone Brand
  • Develop and execute integrated communication plans aligned to the strategic objectives of the business.
  • Fashion out policy standards applicable to Corporate Communications in line with Group standards
  • Manage the media exposure of the C.E.O. and all SMT members through the necessary preparations, Q and As, fact sheets and interview schedules.
  • Monitor news items and ensure that the right mitigation measures are taken on negative stories about the VF brand.
  • Supervise the tracking, on a daily basis, of reporting on VF Ghana and competitors in key news channels.
  • Pitch stories in a way that generates positive news for the Vodafone brand.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with key media personnel to help Vodafone’s story telling.
  • Create content for news releases, articles, speeches, presentations for various channels including Vodafone’s website, Facebook, Twitter and any other social media channels.
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy for VF to enhance competitive advantage.
  • Develop and apply monthly themes to the various content created and distributed across news channels.
  • Develop programes to enhance the profile and reputation of Vodafone as the telecom company of choice in Ghana.
  • Prepare position papers for Vodafone on critical industry issues and ensure consistent messaging across audience.
  • Position Vodafone as a thought-leader in the telecoms industry through relevant engagements and exposures
  • Provide guidance and direction in a way that ensures that Vodafone leverages the PR value in its key events and sponsorships.
  • Establish and maintain good relationship between the company and its publics.
  • Manage Vodafone’s relationship with the PR agency to ensure it delivers value to the business.
  • Work with the events team to roll out activities aligned to Vodafone’s strategic objectives, and that drive the business agenda.
  • Provide guidance for all internal and external communications/awareness campaigns.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a stakeholder engagement strategy aligned to the overarching business strategy, and which provides positive PR for the company.
  • Be the key person for building and sustaining relations with all Vodafone’s key stakeholders.
  • Organize quarterly media/stakeholder encounters to forge closer networking and relationship building with the media and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop an issue management log that tracks stakeholder issues and helps manage same in a way that strengthens relationship between the company and its stakeholders

Must have technical / Professional Qualification

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Good understanding of the environmental and socio-economic agenda, through qualification and experience (Essential)
  • Knowledgeable in Social Responsibility in general with focus on Ghanaian environment.
  • Possess strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet short deadlines.
  • Have good interpersonal skills to accommodate all shades of opinion from people with diverse background in the discharge of the role.
  • Demonstrable expertise in understanding the needs of an organization’s audiences and delivering appropriate messages using a variety of channels.
  • Prior experience in developing and implementing an effective strategic external communication plan for a large organization

Role Purpose of the Database Administrator Job Vacancy At Vodafone Ghana

Responsible for the Management of the ORACLE and MS SQL Database Platform across Vodafone Ghana.  Control of the DB systems on day-to-day basis will cover:
•Configuration Management
•Administration Management
•Storage, Backup & Recovery
•Technical Support
•Responsibility for ensuring resources support in Testing and Deployment of new components
•Providing Level 1/2/3 technical support resources in support across the Database Estate in Vodafone Ghana
•Accountable for planning and small project delivery.
•Required to take decisions best suited for the stability of the Database environment during instability.
•Responsible for the LRP around the Vodafone Database Environment.

Role Responsibility of the Database Administrator At Vodafone Ghana

•Providing technical expertise and decision making for appropriate level DB system environments on issues relating to servers, local services, data centers DB environment, DB configuration and to ensure that Vodafone’s IT DBA needs as a business are met on a day-to-day basis and coordinate the efforts of other technical staff members.
•Providing consulting in requirements definition, specification, design, development, and integration of systems and database management on complex projects accountable for the IT Database delivery to ensure services adhere to project specifications.
•Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives across the IT database estate
•Manage Project deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT database systems.
•Investigating and resolving escalated issues within the Database environments and ensuring provision of adequate technical and personnel resources are devoted to solutions.
•Reviewing tests, integrations, maintenance, and solutions of less experienced personnel on larger projects, for appropriateness and accuracy.
•Communicates, maintains, and establishes principles, directions, and standards related to distributed Database environments to meet end user and company needs.
•Overseeing and supporting periodic maintenance and upgrades of respective DB environments.
•Working with Key Vodafone Vendors in understanding their technical road maps and factoring this into LRP Planning with Head of Infrastructure, Head of Architecture & Strategy and CIO.
•Responsible for the LRP around the Vodafone Database Environment.
•Required to present technical / specialist information to senior managers and produce innovative solutions that enable and provide operational excellence and efficiencies

Professional / Technical Competencies

•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
•7 or more years of Database administration experience, 2 of which shoul have been in a technical management capacity
•2 to 3 years’ experience with MsSql and Oracle Support
•2 to 3 years’ experience with database Clustering
•2 to 3 years’ experience with Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART)
•Ability to work well with a team in a fast paced, constantly changed environment and follow instructions from supervisors and senior colleagues.

Role Purpose for the Product Development Specialist At Vodafone

To create an environment which ensures that ideas and innovations are being entered into consumer and commercial opportunities. Coordinates and guides the process that ensures ideas and innovations are being refined and developed into consumable products and services. Collaborate with product and segment managers to take pipeline outputs to market.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

1.    Utilise products and services roadmap to plan and define scope for new products and innovation, in collaboration with Voice, Non-Voice, Pricing and Segment Marketing Managers.

2.    Coordinate resource planning, prioritization and sequencing for a clear priority, in collaboration with all product and service managers.

3.    Support Product Managers in the screening of proposals and new technologies; to guide business on initiatives to embark on, in-line with products and services roadmap for the financial year.

4.    End-to-end management of product and initiative development pipeline and process, interfacing with Technology, Finance and Approval Matrix members to move processes forward.

5.    Responsible for managing project documentation and proper record management of the product development process. Responsible for coordinating all stakeholders along the paper approval trail, ensuring fast progress at all times.

6.    In collaboration with Business Risk function, conduct analysis and impact assessments for both new and ongoing initiatives, ensuring Vodafone is minimising risk with partners and consumers.

7.    Managing risks as well as monitoring and reporting progress of new products and initiatives to Consumer Business Unit stakeholders.

8.    Coordinate business partners and manage vendor relationships during onboarding, set-up/integration and launch processes, and ensuring proper handover to the relevant product or segment owner.

9.    Ensure Quality control and assurance for new projects and initiatives.

10.    Being part of impact analysis on new products and initiatives, in collaboration with Finance, Consumer and Technology function.
