THE Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, announces for the information of the Academic Community and the General Public of the vacancy for the position of FINANCE OFFICER, effective, 1ST NOVEMBER, 2023.

The Position

FINANCE OFFICER

The Finance Officer is the Head of the Finance Office and shall be responsible, under the Vice-Chancellor, for the financial administration of the University in accordance with the Financial Administration Act 2003 (ACT 654).

Qualification Required & Experience

The Person

• Must be a distinguished professional with the capacity to mobilise and manage resources for the University.
• Must be above reproach and exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills.
• Must have an entrepreneurial drive and be business-oriented;
• Must be a team player with good inter-personal and communication skills.
• Must have both professional and relevant master’s degree.
• Must be a Member of a recognised professional Accountancy/Auditing body (ICA/ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA, etc).
• Must be literate in contemporary IT software/tools relating to the accounting profession.
• Must have served in a University or analogous institution at a rank not below a Deputy Finance Officer/Deputy Director of Finance/Deputy Internal Auditor;

OR

• Must have a minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience in a highly reputable and recognised practicing Auditing/Accounting Firm, industry, commerce and/or public service.

Terms of Appointment

• The Appointment, which is full-time, shall be for FIVE (5) YEARS in the first instance before attaining the compulsory retiring age of SIXTY (60). The appointment may be subject to renewal after evaluation of performance by the University Council.
