JUST IN: Anas Exposes Deputy Finance Minister, Charles Adu Boahen in Latest Undercover Documentary
Charles Adu Boahen, who is the Minister of State for Finance, was caught in the latest undercover investigation by the famous journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In a post on his Facebook page just a few hours before the showing of his investigation piece called “Galamsey Economy,” Anas said that Charles Adu Boahen told his team some shocking things when they pretended to be investors in Ghana in a hotel in the UAE.
He said that Adu Boahen said the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, would need an appearance fee of about USD200,000 from an investor in order to get his support and help in setting up a business in Ghana.
He said that when his Tiger Eye PI team met with the Minister of State for Finance in the UAE, he talked about Bawumia’s financial needs before agreeing to help any investor.
“You mean like fees for appearing and stuff? I mean the Vice President himself. If you want to give him (USD) 200,000 or something as a thank-you token, that’s fine. He’s not really like that, not really. Charles Adu Boahen is said to have said, “All he needs to worry about in 2020 is his campaign money.”
But Dr. Gideon Boako, an assistant to Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, has disputed what Charles Adu Boahen, the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, said.
He thinks that the Vice President is smart and careful when he talks to people who want to invest in the economy.
When the Tiger Eye team talked to Dr. Gideon Boako, the Vice President’s Economic Advisor and Spokesperson, he denied that the Vice President had told or talked to anyone about asking for money for his political goals or accepting an appearance fee or token from an investor to meet with him.
“So, off the top of my head and because I’ve spent a lot of time with him, I’ll say no. Dr. Boako said, “I know how quiet and smart the Vice President is. He wouldn’t even try to do something like that.”
Anas Aremeyaw’s “Galamsey Economy,” Anas’s undercover documentary, will be shown at the Accra International Conference Center at 4:00 PM.
