BoG Governor has been threatened by some politicians after referring to them as hooligans. The issue is going to be tough in Ghana.
The streets leading to the premises of the Bank of Ghana were occupied by a group of protestors which was engineered and championed by the minority in parliament to present their petition to the governor of the Bank Of Ghana on the 3rd of October 2023. The message to the Bank of Ghana Governor from the protestors was to ask him to resign as the governor of the Bank Of Ghana over losses incurred in 2022 and 2023. The outcome of the demonstration confirmed that Ernest Addison (BoG governor) did not show up to receive the petition.
In response to the actions of the demonstrators, Mr. Ernest Addison referred to them as hooligans and for that matter, he is not ready to resign today or tomorrow. The words of Mr. Ernest Addison were not welcomed by the minority in parliament for being referred to as hooligans. Given this, some serious threat has been issued against Mr. Ernest Addison the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
Mahama Ayariga who happens to be a lawyer and politician in Ghana speaks on the words of Ernest Addison. Mahama Ayariva is a member of Parliament on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress NDC. He was the Minister of Information and Media and currently representing the good people of Bawku Central in Parliament.
