KA Technologies completes distribution of Teachers Mate 1 laptops to GES staff

After being contracted by the government to supply laptops to teachers with the Ghana Education Service under the One Teacher, One Laptop policy, KA Technologies says it has completed the distribution of Teachers Mate 1 laptops.
Announcing the completion of the nationwide distribution of the TM1 laptops in a statement sighted by GhanaEducation.org, the company said over 30,000 teachers have benefited from the flagship programme.
“We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the nationwide supply, training and subsequent distribution of Computer Laptops to qualified teachers (Kindergarten, Primary, Junior and Senior High Schools), teachers on study leave and non-teaching Staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES),” KAT said in the statement.
The laptop manufacturer said it has established 24/7 Aftercare Centers across the country, to ensure continuous customer and technical support for teachers who may have issues with their device.
“Our user-friendly Katcare App allows the booking of repair services and the purchase of Laptop accessories. Teachers may also call toll-free line 0800790555 to report any complaints or enquiries”, the statement added.
KA expressed gratitude to the teacher unions; the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT),
It also commended stakeholders including the central government, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service and the regulatory institutions for working to ensure a successful distribution of the Teachers Mate 1 laptops.
“As a local firm, we are indeed gratified to have contributed towards the delivery of digital-aided advancement in teaching in Ghana and remain committed to leapfrogging technology to transform all sectors of the Ghanaian economy,” it said in the statement.
The One Teacher, One Laptop’ initiative was launched by Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at the Saint Mary’s Senior High School, in Accra. to facilitate lesson planning, teaching and learning outcomes.
The launch attracted key stakeholders in the education sector, including teacher unions, directors of education, managers of educational institutions, teachers and students.
Vice President Bawumia said the initiative was at the heart of the President to improve teaching and learning performances towards attaining the Sustainable Development Goal Four.
He said teachers were indispensable to building the human capacity of the nation and the government was committed to providing the requisite ICT tools and infrastructure to achieve education transformation and socio-economic development.
Bawumia noted that the Fourth Industrial Revolution was highly dependent on ICT skills and knowledge, therefore, the government would equip teachers to access teaching and learning resources to improve performance.

after sharing they said they will do a mop up for those who couldn’t receive theirs from the 12th of August to the 20th brought out a circular on it and it did not come on. so once again I can say on authority that it is not true they haven’t completed distribution because some of us are in waiting for ours.
