Kwami Sefa Kayi ‘s Apology to Dep. Finance Minister
Renowned radio broadcaster and host of Peace FM’s Kokrookoo morning show, Kwami Sefa Kayi, recently issued a public apology to Deputy Minister of Finance, Abena Osei-Asare. The apology stemmed from a miscommunication surrounding Osei-Asare’s absence on the show on November 16, 2023.
Initially scheduled to discuss and defend the budget presented in parliament on November 15, Osei-Asare had to attend the funeral of the late Theresa Kufuor, prompting her to seek leave from the show. Sefa Kayi openly acknowledged the miscommunication that occurred between the minister and the production team, expressing regret for any unintended offense caused by his comments during the on-air discussion.
In his statement, Sefa Kayi stated, “Yesterday I and the Deputy Finance Minister, Abena Osei-Asare were supposed to have a discussion which couldn’t come on. I said some things which I should not have said. This was due to a miscommunication. It could have gone better.”
