Director General of Education has revealed that, the GES teachers recruitment managements are waiting for financial clearance to Recruit More Teachers for this year 2024.

The latest update concerning 2024 GES recruitment of trained teachers from the various accredited colleges of education and other universities has revealed that the Ghana Education Service is waiting for a clearance from the financial ministry to be able to proceed with the recruitment.

The group of trained teachers in Ghana who have fulfilled their national service requirements and passed the Ghana Teacher Licensure Exams are eagerly anticipating their official placements as teachers.

Despite the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) providing reassurances about their imminent postings, these committed educators have taken action by submitting a petition to urge the GES and Ministry of Education to expedite the recruitment process.

Recent updates indicate that the recruitment of these qualified teachers is currently on hold awaiting financial clearances from the Ministry of Finance. Dr. Eric Nkansah, in a statement on Peace FM’s mid-day show, mentioned that the Finance Ministry is in the process of granting the necessary financial clearance to the GES.

This clearance will facilitate the recruitment of both teaching and non-teaching staff.

During a meeting with headteachers in the Eastern region, Dr. Eric Nkansah reiterated his dedication to securing the financial clearance required for teacher recruitment.

Despite the delays caused by financial considerations, there is a sense of optimism among the trained teachers that they will soon receive their permanent postings and begin their careers in education.

List of Basic Requirements for GES Postings 2024.

Per the guideline, candidates who wish to be considered for work as a teacher under the GES ought to have;

1. Completed and passed the final-year College of Education Examination.

2. Have a bachelor’s degree certificate from a college of education or any recognised and accredited university in Ghana.

3. Passed the Teacher Licensure Examination

4. Completed the mandatory National Service
