Lesson objective not secret kept away from learners – Teachers told
The lesson objective is not a secret to be kept away from your learners, and every teacher agrees with this. The lesson objective indicates desirable knowledge, skills, or attitudes learners are to gain from the lesson.
Objectives of a lesson are key components of teaching and serve as the foundation for building lessons to be taught and the associated assessment for determining if the objectives have been achieved.
It is important that learners know the lesson objective.
However, how many teachers inform learners of the objectives before lessons begin in our classrooms?
They help you and your students evaluate progress and encourage them to take responsibility for their learning.
A lesson aim or objective that important general statement indicating the overall goal of the lesson.
It indicates the very intention behind the entire lesson. In other words, such objectives are better and useful if they meet the SMART criteria.
Thus they must be specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-Bound.
Hon. Jerry Akporhor Founder and Lead Educator of Informed Teachers Network(ITN), the Lesson aim should be the first thing every good teacher should share with learners before anything else.

He has advised teachers to also attempt to find out from learners what they intend to learn.
Again, he believes writing this somewhere on the board would help guide the learning process.
In his view, the learners are your ultimate judge of the teacher and the dreaded supervisors.
Lesson objective not a secret, let them know the standard by which they should measure your work. The days where you keep objectives to yourself are long gone.
