Mahama slams LGBTQ+ people
The leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has asserted and articulated his position on transgender activities in Ghana.
He voiced opposition to issues related to people who identify as LGBTQ+ and supported the proposed legislation regarding sexual liberties and Ghanaian family values.

This was made known by the former president during an address to Zongo chiefs in Koforidua.
The Electoral Commission’s proposal to change the voting date from December to November raised his concerns.
Mahama thinks the fresh ideas could stoke doubts about the fairness of the elections.
The Election Commission has suggested changing the voting date from December 7 to November 7. It has also indicated that it will not use indelible ink for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
Mr Mahama questioned why the EC waited until eight months before the polls to propose such significant reforms, as he said the proposed changes could lead to chaos if not executed effectively.
In order to maintain the credibility of the electoral process, he stressed the need for transparency and careful consideration.
