Mobile Money Vendor Shot By Armed Robbers At Kasoa

A 25-year-old mobile money vendor is in critical condition after suspected armed men attacked him at Kasoa Big Man Town near Poolside Hotel in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

The three robbers armed with pump action guns and a pistol attacked the victim, Kelvin Nii Kpakpo while doing his everyday transactions around 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

They took away an undisclosed amount of money.

Onlookers said the assailants, aged 18 – 20 years, were firing indiscriminately, resulting in a slug hitting the victim, genuinely injuring him all the while.

He was thusly rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Fortunately, images of the robbers were captured by CCTV cameras at the Hotel which could lead to their arrest.

Meanwhile, the case has been accounted for to the Kasoa Police headquarters for investigation.

Mobile money vendors have been victims of armed burglary attacks for quite a long time as criminals consider them to be easy prey.

On December 8, 2022, armed robbers shot a mobile money vendor, Ebenezer Amoaquandoh, at Gomoa Akotsi in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region and dashed with GH¢30,000.

The incident happened on Tuesday around 9:00 pm at the Gomoa Akotsi Truck Station moments after the vendor locked his shop and was about to embark to his home.

One of the armed robbers with a pump action gun shot his left thigh while the other hit his head with a sharp item.

Ebenezer was in this manner rushed to the Winneba Trauma Hospital, where he was treated.

The deceased, whose name was given as Joseph Koomson, was stabbed three times and kicked the bucket on the spot.

The victim’s family said he faced the suspect, who attempted to steal his money, resulting in a battle.
