MoE 2021 school placement resolution centres update out
The Ministry of Education MoE has released the 2021 school placement resolution centres that 2021 BECE candidates, parents, and guardians can visit to get their issues resolved. The MoE has also disclosed that all opened placement resolution centres will remain open after students report to school.
The public has also been informed that placement resolution centres across the 16 Regions of Ghana will be opened and continue to operate beyond April 4.
Students who have issues with their placement are advised to contact the complaints and enquiries officers for help via phone number 030 298 7654.
However, students and their parents or guardians can visit the nearest 2021 school placement resolution centres in their respective regions to seek assistance for genuine issues.
The good news for BECE 2021 candidates who were automatically placed in Grammar or Secondary schools to study can change to a public TVET institution if they wish. Such students are advised to call the call centre number or visit the nearest 2021 school placement resolution centres for assistance. This was part of the Frequently Asked Questions that the GES provided answers to.
The FAQ: I had a grammar school, but I now feel like doing a course in TVET. Can I reapply and be chosen?
Answer: Yes, you stand a chance given the availability of vacancies after the automatic placement.

For students who want to change their school. The GES has disclosed that that is not possible after enrolment, however you can apply for a transfer to another school only after a year.
Another important FAQ: I was enrolled in a school, but my name can no longer be found on their system. What can be done?
Answer: If indeed a candidate was enrolled in a particular school, but the details can no longer be found on the school’s system, the Head of the school will formally report to the appropriate office for redress. The candidate should not be sent away from the school.

However, all candidates and parents are to note that, the GES has not reviewed its earlier decision regarding the reporting to school. Thus, all students will be expected to report to school from the 4th of April 2022 t commence their academic work as first-year students in a Free SHS or Free TVET school.
