MTN Ghana provides further insight into the recent disruptions, explaining that on March 12, 2024, it lost internet capacity provided by the WACS subsea cable but swiftly switched to ACE to maintain service. However, on March 14, 2024, the company experienced a further loss of internet connectivity from its remaining providers SAT3 and ACE due to cuts in their undersea cables. This led to disruptions in data services on both mobile and fixed networks.

To mitigate the impact of these disruptions, MTN Ghana has secured new internet capacity and is progressively adding more capacities through various means, including local caching solutions. These efforts aim to enable access to popular content services such as YouTube, Facebook, and Netflix.

MTN Ghana expresses gratitude for the patience and understanding of its customers during this period and assures them that all customers will be refunded accordingly for any inconvenience caused. In conclusion, the company reiterates that the rumors regarding disconnection due to debts are false and urges the public to disregard them.
