Nana Agyei Sikapa formerly of Peace FM
Daniel Agyei Peprah popularly known as Nana Agyei SikaPa formerly of Peace 104.3 was a veteran broadcaster who use his eloquent and understanding in the local dialect to promote culture on his programs.
He was born in the year 1955 at Atwiman Nerebehi in the Ahafo Region.
He started his education at Nerebehi Roman Catholic Primary School. After his primary education, he Progress to Attebubu Teacher’s Training College from 1987-1991.
He completed a four-year program in Education and became a professional teacher.
He taught for a period of time at Agogo and Abuakwa Schools all in Ashanti region before moving into Journalism.
Nana Agyei SikaPa started his career in Radio at Garden City Radio when he was invited to host a program due to his passion for a poem and presentation.
He started as the morning show host at Garden City Radio; he excels well with his fluency in the local languages.
He was loved by his listeners especially those who are culturally enthusiasts.
In the year 2003, Nana Agyei SikaPa joined Despite’s Peace FM as a news caster.
He became famous in Accra because of his style of news presentation especially when he is paired with Adwoa Yeboah Agyei, who is also fluent in the twi dialect.
One attributes that makes Nana Agyei Sikapa different from other journalist is the way he uses appellations in presenting news and other programs.
He was the only broadcaster that uses dirge for announcement and radio commercials.
Before his dismissal on 19th June,2020 after a short illness at Ridge Hospital in Accra, he was the host for “wo bu be a” ,”Tete” and ” wo gyidie ne Sen” on Peace FM.
Nana Agyei Sikapa left a wife and seven children.
People of Ghana and the world at large who love culture will never forget the legacy left by Nana Agyei Sika pa in promoting culture and history.
