New Headmaster of Prempeh College, Rev Lewis Asare Unveiled
The new headmaster of Prempeh College, Rev. Lewis Asare, has been made known to the public. He is a Methodist minister and has held similar positions in other institutions in Ghana. His vast experience in playing leadership roles will be brought to bear on his new appointment.
Before his appointment as the new headmaster of Prempeh College, he was serving as the headmaster of Kurofa Senior High Technical School. The Kurofa SHS is situated in the Asante Akyem South Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
He is a professionally trained teacher and a product of Wesley College of Education in Kumasi. He has Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil.) degrees from the University of Education, Winneba.
His basic education has been traced to the Armed Forces Basic Schools at the 4th Battalion Infantry (4BN), Uaddara Barracks, Kumasi. When he reached basic four, he moved to continue his basic education at Hooper International School, Tarkwa, where he was enrolled in primary five.
He later enrolled at the Catholic primary and Lawra Basic Schools, where he completed his basic education, and later gained admission to Prempeh College, Kumasi, where he is going to serve as the headmaster.
He goes into history as one of the few students of Prempeh College who returned to serve in the capacity of headmaster of the school.
Lewis Asare began his career as a teacher at GES in 1997. Over the years, he received promotions to senior positions, including senior superintendent in 2000, principal superintendent in 2003, assistant director II in 2009, assistant director I in 2013, and deputy director in 2018. He also served as the headmaster of Kurofa SHTS.
Prior to his career in education, Lewis Asare completed his studies at Prempeh in 1993. He is from Hiawu Besease in the Ashanti region and is the son of the late Very Rev. David Kwesi Asare and Madam Victoria Kwarteng. He is the fourth of seven children.
Lewis Asare is married to Mrs. Stella Afrifa Asare, and they have three children together.
