New Junior High Schools In Ghana To Look Like This

The minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum (MP) has revealed how the new junior high school buildings in Ghana will look like.
In an interview on Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, the minster of Education showed images of the ongoing Junior High School buildings that will soon be commissioned for academic purposes in some parts of the country. According to him, all Junior High Schools in Ghana will soon look like the picture as shown below.

He added that such buildings will have an ICT laboratory, Biology Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory, STEM lab, and Physics laboratory.
“Sometimes you here people saying that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has focussed on the senior high schools and has neglected the basic schools and so. Let’s look at the junior high school intervention we are doing. This is a new junior high school coming to the community near you. And we don’t talk about this until we start with the construction. One has been built in Sunyani, at the Ridge area. Go to Juaben in the Ashanti region, it is there. Go to chamber in the Northern region, it is there. We have them across the country.” he said.

The host of the show, Paul Adom Otchere told him that the buildings looks few and the structure isn’t too big to accommodate all JHS students in one locality. The minister replied and revealed that;
“This is changing the junior high school environment. You know Ghana happens to be one of the few countries in the world where we have three year secondary, so this building, when completed will have biology lab, chemistry lab, physics lab, computer lab and has STEM Lab. We have moved the students from a 19th Century environment to a 21st Century. Look at a typical junior high school building.”
