The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a New SHS 1 Reopening Date Update for students after the delay in the release of their school placements.
The reopening date which was officially 10th March has been moved forward to ensure that parents and students have prepared well enough.
Whiles speaking on UTV’s Adekye Nsroma show, the Director-General of GES, Prof Opoku Amankwa said his outfit had to maintain the reopening date even though it announced to review it.

Prof Kwasi-Opoku Amankwadisclosed that the 2020 batch of Free SHS students reporting for the year will start academic work one week after school reopening, thus Monday, March 15, 2021.
The new date suggests that after students have been enrolled, they can report up to a week late since academic work commences on the 15th which is the new New SHS 1 Reopening Date.
“The first-year SHS students will report to school on 10th March as earlier scheduled but we are in consultations with SHS Headmasters/mistress to extend the date to start academic activities for this academic year.

In his conversation with UTV’s Adekye Nsroma host, Mrs. Yaa Konama he said “So a first-year student can print his or her school placement enrolment form on Friday and report to school on Wednesday, March 10, 2021,”.
