Not all textbooks with our logo are approved – NaCCA
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has come out to state its innocence with regard to all kinds of unapproved basic school textbooks that have their logo embossed on them. According to the council, not all textbooks with our logo are approved.

NaCCA has said that it is dedicated to ensuring the production of high-quality educational resources by textbook publishers. Its newest clarification that not all textbooks displaying the NaCCA logo and inscription are approved is a step aimed at calming the storms of the public over suspicious textbooks with wrong facts that have come to the limelight in recent times.
It furthered that there is no denying the fact that, unapproved textbooks have flooded the book market in Ghana. Such books lack quality assessment since they have not gone through NaCCA’s unapproved textbooks. Such books are not fit for teaching and learning and are also not approved as part of the list of books recommended for schools by NaCCA.
In a statement shared with AcademicWeek.com, the Curriculum and Assessment Council addressed the issue of unapproved textbooks circulating in the market, falsely claiming to have NaCCA’s endorsement.
It called on the public to disregard all unapproved textbooks not found on the NaCCA list on its website.
Parents, schools, and other stakeholders have been called upon to provide information on such books and to call NaCCA on 0302909071 or 0543164818. or visit its website for further details.
To assist schools and parents with any inquiries, the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) encourages them to visit the official website or contact the following numbers: 0302909071 or 0543164818.
In a similar event, the Curriculum Council, a subsidiary of NaCCA, replied to concerns over the content of an Excellence Series Publication History textbook. They stated that the aforementioned publication, “History of Ghana for Basic Schools – Learners’ Book Four,” had not been approved for market sale.
The Curriculum Council was surprised by this publication, which went through the council’s usual approval process. As a result, NaCCA’s administration emphasized that the material published by Excellence Series Publication has not been accepted by NaCCA.
The council asked the public to be vigilant and report any questionable books on the market that falsely purport to be associated with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment in a news release.
Furthermore, the Curriculum and Assessment Council stated its intention to take necessary action against textbook publishers that violate NaCCA’s established norms. Those that disclose materials without having proper authority will face sanctions.
