NSA introduces emergency gazette service to address national service personal documentation issues

The National Service Authority (NSA) and in collaboration with the Ghana Publishing Company Limited, has rolled out an emergency gazette service to help tertiary institution graduates who are deemed for national service but are facing documentation challenges with their national service registration
In a statement issued on Friday, October 10, 2025, the Service Authority announced that a special desk will be set up at its Head Office in Accra starting Monday, October 13, 2025, to handle such cases.
“Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, officials from the Ghana Publishing Company will be on-site to provide emergency gazette services exclusively for graduates dealing with gazette-related concerns as part of their National Service enrollment or documentation process,” the NSA said.
The National Service Authority (NSA) explained that the emergency gazette service was necessary to ease the process for affected graduates and prevent delays in national service registration and deployment.
“This intervention is to ease the process for affected graduates and ensure that such issues are resolved promptly without the need to travel to external offices,” the NSA said in the statement.
The introduction of the emergency gazette service comes after the NSA raised concerns over a mismatch of details of tertiary institution graduates participating in the ongoing online national service enrolment registration for the 2025/26 batch.
In a statement sighted by GhanaEducation.org, NSA said key among the issues is the inability of some prospective national service personnel to register on the portal due to data mis-match.
“At the moment, the Authority can report that incorrect Date of Birth (DOB) and Name(s) have been identified as the major setback,” it said in the statement dated October 9, 2025.
It therefore urged prospective personnel to strictly comply with the instructions below:
I. That where the details of a prospective national service personnel, as submitted by his/her tertiary institution, does not match with his/her Ghana Card, the personnel in question MUST swear an affidavit, gazette it, and submitthe same to the school. The school will then forward the details to the Authority to amend its records, thereby allowing the personnel to register.
II. In the event where the details of a prospective national service personnel, as submitted by his/her tertiary institution was wrongly captured by the said tertiary institution, the prospective national service personnel must notify the institution of the error. The tertiary institution shall rectify the error and communicate the same to the Authority.
III. Tertiary institutions should submit corrected details via classlist@nss.gov.gh and copy in tweneboah.kodua@nss.gov.gh
The Authority says it is committed to ensuring that all eligible prospective personnel duly register to undertake their mandatory national service in areas of national priority for national development.
“In case of further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact our District and Regional offices for the necessary support. Alternatively, you may please contact our support services at the Head Office,” the NSA has said.
