NTC announces date and venue for 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize
Greater Kumasi was picked as the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize hosteler after the NTC Registrar led a team of officials from his outfit to the region to engage stakeholders in preparation for this year’s ceremony slated for early October 2024.
The team paid a courtesy call to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah at the Regional Coordinating Council to officially inform him of the selection of the Ashanti Region as the host of this year’s prestigious Ghana Teacher Prize.
Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah in welcoming the team expressed his appreciation to the Council for the honour of the Region to host this year’s Ghana Teacher Prize.
The Ashanti Regional Minister assured the National Teaching Council (NTC) delegation of the maximum support of the Regional Coordinating Council towards the organization of a colourful event.
“I have known the Registrar of the National Teaching Council for many years now and I know what he stands for. I do not doubt the abilities of my Regional Education Director as well to deliver the best GTP ceremony.
The Regional Coordinating Council will work closely with the Regional Education Directorate and other relevant agencies in the Region to ensure we organize a memorable teacher prize,” Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah stated.
Before the meeting with the Regional Minister, the team visited the Ashanti Regional Education Directorate where the Local Organizing Committee was inaugurated.
The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Dr. William Amankra Appiah in his remarks welcomed the team from the National Teaching Council and expressed his excitement about the selection of the Region to host this year’s Ghana Teacher Prize.
He assured the team of their maximum support and cooperation towards the organization of a memorable ceremony in October 2024.
Dr. Christian Addai-Poku thanked the Regional Education Directorate for the warm reception and was optimistic that the Regional Education Directorate and the Local Organizing Committee will collaborate with the Council to organize one of the best events in the history of the Ghana Teacher Prize.
The Registrar entreated the Regional Education Director to work closely with other relevant institutions and stakeholders to ensure a smooth organization of this year’s teacher prize.
The team from the National Teaching Council included the Ashanti Regional Director of the Council, Mr. James Obeng, the Ghana Teacher Prize National Coordinator, Mad. Grace Agyeman Duah,
Others were the Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Dennis Osei-Owusu, and Mrs. Asanatu Mohammed a member of the National Planning Committee of the Ghana Teacher Prize.
