Okyenhene offers scholarships to top BECE student in each of his 10 model schools

‎The Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, has promised to give scholarships to 10 out of the 79 best students in 10 of his model schools writing this year’s BECE within the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area.‎‎

That, he said, would help pay for the best student in each of the 10 model schools to go to senior high school. ‎‎The schools are the Amoatia Ofori Panin Model Junior High Schools at Kyebi, Osino, Kwabeng, Apedwa, Asuom, Takyiman, Achiase, Dwenase, Kraboa-Coaltar and Wenchi.‎‎

The Okyenhene made the promise when the BECE candidates from the model schools, together with their teachers, visited him at his palace, Ofori Panin Fie, in Kyebi.

‎‎The candidates came to seek his blessings and words of encouragement so they could prepare well and get good grades at the BECE.‎‎

The Okyenhene said the scholarship package would support all 10 students who come out with excellent results to go to secondary school without any trouble, in line with his plan to improve education in his traditional area.

‎‎”I strongly believe that doing this will not only motivate the final year students to get good grades but will also open doors for them to do well in life as they move up the academic ladder.‎‎”

As long as I continue to be the Okyenhene, I will keep supporting not only the 10 top students who perform well but also other bright and needy students in my traditional area,” the Okyenhene said.‎‎

He urged them to work hard so they could overcome any obstacles in their way and become important people in the future.

‎‎That, he said, would turn the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area into a centre of academic excellence.
