In the wake of the global pandemic, online education has gained prominence at all levels of education. One key element needed to deliver quality online teaching is qualified faculty with the needed IT skills and expertise.
To ensure that OLA College of Education meets the needs of the changing education sector, the College has partnered with Multiplex International Development Inc., based in Toronto, Canada to run a 2-day virtual training for staff.
This is geared toward ensuring faculty members of the college have the requisite skills to help develop online courses and deliver lessons online.
In a post on Twitter sighted by Ghana Education News, the College said “As part of the college’s continuing efforts to improve the capacities of teaching faculties to develop online courses and deliver lessons online, we have arranged with Multiplex International Development Inc., based in Toronto, Canada to run a 2-day virtual training for staff.”

The two-day virtual training/workshop was held on 25th and 26th August 2021 online.
At the end of this workshop, participants acquired relevant IT skills that will enable them to
- Analyze the process involved in developing an online course.
- Identify the parts of learning modules/units in an online course.
- Illustrate how to create and align the components of a learning module/unit.
- Discuss best practices for online course delivery.
- Discuss options for online testing.
- Use selected technologies that support inclusive teaching and learning.
Multiplex International Development Inc. (MiDi) is a Toronto-based organization intending to provide development-related programs to institutions in the developing world.
