Opinion: Christian Atsu Wouldn’t Have Died If He Was American Or Turkish, Check Why
Christian Atsu is a Ghanaian football player who died days ago after being stuck under a rubble for days in a 7.8 earthquake in Turkey. In this write-up, I am going to explain why Christian Atsu wouldn’t have died if he was American or Turkish.
The earthquake happened almost 2 weeks ago, and it claimed over 30,000 people. Rescue teams tried their best to rescue people, but some people died. Among people who were trapped in the earthquake were Hatayspor team official Tanur Savet and player Christian Atsu. Atsu was confirmed dead on Saturday, and Tanur Savet has also been confirmed dead.
My take still remains Christian Atsu wouldn’t have died if he was American or Turkish. This is because America is a country that loves its citizens. America would’ve sent a rescue team to Turkey to rescue Atsu on the first day of hearing the news. He would have been regarded a national asset and hence receive treatment as such. Citizens of America are accounted for by the government, hence they will do anything to save their people.
Ghana and the GFA in turn showed no effort to aid in the rescue of the citizen, all they did was to sit back here and tweet useless messages. Sources say Atsu was begging the Ghanaian FA to make him a permanent national team player since players who play in the national team are respected out there, but received no tangible response. All they did was to receive his dead body and make big tweets as if they wanted his success.
On the other hand, there would’ve been a 40% chance that he would live if he was Turkish. Reason being that efforts would have been made to rescue him first if he was Turkish no matter what because he is a national asset. Though they tried their best, it yielded no results. God knows best.
