How Wicked Wisdom Murdered Theo, Drove Him Like A Passenger Around Town Before Burning Him With His Car

How Wicked Wisdom Murdered Theo and Burned Him With His Car

The La Bawaleshie Community on the Dodowa Road and the family of 27-year-old Theophilus “Theo” Ashitey have been left in shock following the gruesome confession of the suspect, Wisdom Tetteh. What began as a business deal over a Hyundai Elantra ended in a calculated act of violence and an attempt to erase all evidence of a friend’s existence.

The suspect drove the lifeless body of Theo from Saabi town, which is close to the victim’s residence (La Bawaleshie Community on the Dodowa Road), to the University of Ghana and then to the GIMPA area to hide evidence. The journey from the suspect’s residence to the University of Ghana forest is about a three-hour drive. As to how police on the road and checkpoints did not pick up the suspect while on the road is another mystery.

Below is the detailed account of the events based on official reports and the suspect’s own confession.

The Heartbreaking Timeline of Events: How Wisdom Tetteh Ended the Budding Life of Theo in a Flash.

Below is a picture of the suspect after his arrest.

  • Monday, April 6, 2026: The Initial Attack: The car deal, originally set for the previous Friday, was postponed to Monday. At Wisdom’s residence in Saasabi, a confrontation erupted. Wisdom confessed to repeatedly hitting Theo’s head against the ground until he became unconscious and weak.
  • The Period of Deception: Wisdom initially left the house while Theo was still alive but badly injured. Upon his return, he found that Theo had stopped breathing.
  • A “Passenger” in the Backseat: Rather than seeking help, Wisdom placed Theo’s lifeless body in the back seat of the car to look like a passenger. He drove to Mensah-Sarbah Hall at the University of Ghana, Legon, and parked there for hours to waste time and avoid suspicion.
  • Tuesday, April 7, 2026: The Burning on GIMPA Road: Around midnight, Wisdom drove to the GIMPA road area. He tied Theo up and set both the body and the vehicle on fire to destroy the evidence.
  • Late April 2026: The Arrest and Extradition: Wisdom fled to Togo, where he was eventually arrested. He was extradited back to Ghana on April 30, 2026, to face investigation.
  • The Motive: While Wisdom claims the violence was over a debt Theo allegedly owed him, investigators believe the primary motive was the theft of the Hyundai Elantra.

La Bawaleshie Community on the Dodowa Road Seeking Justice

The father of the victim, Mr. Benjamin Bokye Arma, and the youth of the La Bawaleshie community on the Dodowa Road continue to demand full accountability for this “wicked and inhumane” act. As the case moves forward, the focus remains on the forensic recovery of remains at the University of Ghana forest and the legal prosecution of the suspect.

“This reveals how wicked humans can be and the need for us all to be careful with those we call friends.”
