Potential Political Heads To Be Appointed For STEM Schools
The ministry of education seems to be overstretching its role in its decision to start appointing heads of schools, a function for the Ghana Education Service. It has been disclosed by NAGRAT president on the 17th February 2022 that the government, through the ministry of education, has already floated adverts for the position of headteachers and/or Headmistresses for STEM schools.
It is believed that the decision by the ministry to appoint heads of school is to start being implemented with the STEM schools and later extended to other schools. NAGRAT contends that the function of selecting heads of schools is the mandate of GES and any attempt by the ministry to perform the same would amount to overstepping the role of GES.

If this decision of the ministry to take up the role of appointing heads may lead to the appointment of political aparrachics who may be too powerful for their superiors to handle.
