The WASSCE 2021 examination leakage tricks used at Exam Centres to circulate the examination questions clearly shows WAEC is fallible and needs to sit up if it is to enjoy the existing monopoly as an examining body.
The massive leakage of examination questions leading to WAEC’s postponement of Physics and Business Management is a testament to the fact that stakeholders such as Education Watch were right after all that the examinations were compromised in 2020. Their earlier call regarding the Food and Nutrition paper 3 further shows that individuals and syndicates championing the leaking of questions use different tricks to get access to examination questions for their illegal motives.
WASSCE 2021 Examination Leakage Tricks Used At Exam Centres
According to WAEC, Inside-examination-hall malpractice was one of the tricks used to compromise the examination since invigilators provided substandard supervision and invigilation during papers.
Again, WAEC disclosed that the illegal act has been institutionalized. Thus the examination malpractice is arranged ahead of the examination between candidates and some distribution syndicate who executed the plan by solving the questions and distributing the solutions to the candidates within the examination halls and centres.
In other instances, mobile phones were smuggled into the examination halls by candidates awaiting solutions from platforms they have made payments for to be delivered.
WAEC said, others snapped questions and posted them on various WhatsApp platforms.

WAEC has failed to protect the credibility of the 2021 WASSCE and this raises questions about Ghana’s 2020 WASSCE performance.

It is time for WAEC to accept the blame for its negligence and poor conduct of the 2021 WASSCE.
It is very disturbing that the GES and the Ministry of Education have not released any statement on the examination leakage since WAEC made it public.
