Running Mate for Bawumia: Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu

As the anticipation builds for the NPP’s choice of a running mate for the 2024 elections, one name has emerged with strong endorsement – Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. According to Mr. Richard Agyemang, a former Suame Youth Organizer of the NPP, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu possesses the best credentials to complement the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In an exclusive interview with Ultimate Fm’s Julius Caesar Anadem, Mr. Agyemang emphasized Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu ‘s extensive experience and impressive Curriculum Vitae (CV) as key factors that make him an ideal running mate. The Majority Leader, known as one of the country’s oldest lawmakers, has a long and distinguished track record, having served as the MP for Suame since 1996.
Agyemang expressed confidence in Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s ability to collaborate effectively with Dr. Bawumia, highlighting the veteran lawmaker’s understanding of democracy and vast parliamentary experience. He pointed out that Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu ‘s local and international networks, along with his respected reputation, make him a strong running mate for Bawumia.

Discussing the dynamics of party leadership, Agyemang explained that Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu ‘s name naturally comes up in conversations about a potential running mate within the NPP. Drawing an analogy, he likened the Majority Leader’s stature in politics to a young police officer aspiring to become an Inspector General of Police (IGP).
“The majority leader is more than qualified to partner with Bawumia. He has the track record and all the qualities. He understands democracy with vast parliamentary experience; he has the links and respects both locally and internationally,” Agyemang emphasized.
In conclusion, Agyemang noted that the compatibility between Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu and Bawumia is evident in their past interactions. As the speculations continue, it remains to be seen whether Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu will indeed be the chosen running mate, bringing his wealth of experience and leadership qualities to the forefront of the 2024 elections.
