Police Officer, Wife And 3 Months Baby Burnt To Death At Apromase, Kumasi

News coming in indicates that a police officer with the Anti-Robbery Unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Command has been killed after fire gutted his residence at Apromase in the Ashanti Region.
Sergeant Owusu Asante Baafi, together with his wife, Yaa Achiaa, and their three-month old baby were burnt to death in the disaster said to have occurred Sunday night.
It is unclear what caused the fire but personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were at the scene to begin investigations.

Some police officers were also at the scene to help with investigations.
Pictures showed the roofing of the two-storey apartment ripped off by the fire.
According to reports, he died together with his wife and child.
The Assembly Member for the Apromase/Asawase Electoral area, Ernest Kwarteng who confirmed the news said they are waiting for investigations into the cause of the fire outbreak.
“According to eyewitnesses, the fire swept through one of the rooms where the officer, his wife and daughter were,” he said.
“The police came in but we are waiting for the experts to come in to tell us what exactly happened”, he said.

Meanwhile, the bodies have been deposited at the morgue.
Following this sad story, several Ghanaians have reacted to it and have consoled with the family. It is a sad news coming from the Ashanti regional capital. The Ghana Police service is yet to brief the public on how such sad and unfortunate incident occurred to an officer of the law and his family.
