Porn and betting websites among top five most visited in Ghana, says CSA boss

On Thursday, October 6, Antwi-Boasiako said on The Asaase Breakfast Show that porn and betting sites are among the top five most visited sites in Ghana.

CSA chairman Albert Antwi-Boasiako predicts 2.3 million Ghanaians would use the internet in 2010 and 17 million in 2022.

Pornography and betting sites are among Ghana’s top five most frequented sites, Antwi-Boasiako stated on October 6.

“Socially, Ghana had 2.3 million internet users in 2012, but 17 million this year,” he remarked.

“Our people are very active on social media. According to statistics, we are the third most active country on social media in the world, after Nigeria and the Philippines.

“You might be surprised to hear that access to betting sites is one of them,” Antwi-Boasiako said. “It’s not very nice to say this, but access to pornographic sites is also one of them.”
