Sacrifice one man & save millions of lives & livelihoods – Hon. Ablakwa on Ofori-Atta’s Faith

Hon. Ken Ofori Atta, the Finance Minister, and the main sacrificial lamb will be slaughtered in parliament today through a vote of censure by members of parliament.
Hon. Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa Member of Parliament, North Tongu, and a Ranking Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs has called on all members of parliament irrespective of their party affiliations to see today’s historic vote of censure against Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta, the Minister of Finance.
The #KenMustGo move is expected to be constitutionally achieved if the majority of members of parliament from both sides vote for the removal of Ken Ofori-Atta.
In his post on Twitter sighted by GhanaEducation.org, your authoritative news, the MP for North Tongu stated that the move today to axe the finance minister from his post is a patriotic & defining duty for all MPs. He added that this was the way to go if parliament was to heed the demands of sovereign Ghanaians who voted for the MPs to be their representatives in Parliament.
Hon. Ablakwa furthered that, if the vote of censure is carried out and the goal of the intention is achieved, it will send a strong signal to all politicians that no politician is above our laws.
However, ahead of the vote of censure, the ruling NPP has in a press release sighted by GhanaEducation.org called on the majority caucus in parliament not to tape part in the vote of censure against the Finance Minister.
One of the arguments put forth by the party in their press release was that the Finance Minister was the leader of the Ghanaian delegation meeting the IMF for Ghana’s bailout discussions, which were nearing finality.
“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has ordered the Majority Caucus in parliament to abstain from the vote of censure against Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta. If parliaments succeed today, the NPP-led government will have no choice but to respond to the will of the people expresses through parliament and get an acting Minister of Finance in place whiles a substantive minister is sought” The NPP repress release stated.
