Sad: Simms Senior High School Set Ablaze
Ghana Education News can confirm that Simms Senior High School has been set ablaze in the Ashanti Region.
This is not the first time we have heard of a school being set ablaze. It is terrible that students become stranded after incidents of this occur.
This is one of the sad news coming from the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Simms Senior High School is one of the oldest Senior high schools in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
News coming in confirmed that, a storey building at Simms Senior High School which is dedicated for use as a dormitory has been set ablaze.
As of now, the cause of the incident is not known to the general public. However, it has been confirmed that three of the top-floor rooms of the affected dormitory have been burnt down completely.
In the video circulating on social media, students were captured running and shouting for help to be able to retrieve their items from their dormitory.
However, none of those items were retrieved. Looking at the nature at which the fire frames were rising, nobody could enter to attempt to take his or her belongings.
The management of the School quickly placed a call for help from the Ghana National Fire Service for intervention.
Reports further indicated that the Ghana National Fire Service reached the school premises after five (5) minutes when the call was placed by the management of the school.
The Ghana National Fire Service team that arrived at the school was able to save the situation. Already, the damage has been caused, and the necessary investigation is said to be carried out by the fire service personnel to know the cause of the incident that led to the fire outbreak.

In situations like this, it is possible to say that some students were using electric gadgets at the dormitory. It is important that the Simms Senior High School set ablaze is investigated thoroughly. For now, students who use the dormitory have been displaced and the management of the school must put in place some temporal accommodation for them.
