Sheep poisoned by unknown person at Bonsu Nkwanta
An anonymous individual is accused of poisoning more than seven sheep in Adamasi, near Bonsu Nkwata, in the Sefwi Juaboso District of the Western North Region.
Amina, the sheep’s owner, recalls that she awoke in the morning to discover the deceased sheep on her premises, and after examining the situation with her son, they determined that someone had poisoned them.
“They were in the cage when I went to bed last night.” When I came out this morning, I found them lifeless on the ground. So I dialed my son’s number. Then we found some corn on the ground, so someone combined the maize with poison and handed it to them,” she told Freelancer Emmanuel Sowah.
Bawa Ibrahim, the assemblyman representing the region, said, “I got a report that several animals had perished.” When I came around to check, I realized they had been poisoned by someone. Some corn had been planted near the Pentecost church. “Some were at the CAC as well,” he disclosed.
Mr. Bawah warned the perpetrators to stop because humans may be harmed if they accidentally ingest animals that had been poisoned but did not die.
